Online Giving FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Fairview is excited to accept one-time or automatically-recurring donations through a safe, simple, and effective online service called "Clover Donations." Scroll through the information below for answers in anticipation to some of the common questions you may have about this service:

Why online giving?

Simply put, we have decided to open up an online giving option as a matter of convenience. Over the past several years, our leadership has received feedback from some of our members who were interested in setting up online one-time (and automatically recurring) donations As an added bonus, allowing online donations also provides families the opportunity to pay for special events (camps, conferences, day trips, youth events, etc) in a day and age when it's becoming easier and easier to leave home without remembering to bring the checkbook

Is online giving safe?

Short answer: Absolutely! It’s equally as safe as paying bills online or purchasing something through any reputable online retailer

Longer, "technical" answer: Clover Donations uses 256-bit SSL encryption (HTTPS) for data entry, and AES-256 in "cypher-block-chaining mode" for recurring payments. Also, Clover's servers use both hardware AND software firewalls for added protection

Who in the church has access to my information?

We've made certain that only one person in the church has access to the information you provide (our church treasurer) The church treasurer will receive a record of your giving so that he can record it for accounting and year-end tax purposes

Will I receive a record of my giving?

Yes. After you give, an email will automatically be sent to the email address which you provide. You will also have the opportunity to print a receipt of each transaction In addition to a receipt for each transaction, Clover Donations sends a running record of your giving to our church treasurer, who will include your online giving totals with any of your other donations throughout the year for your annual giving report

Can I use a debit or credit card to make a donation?

Yes.  However, we do incur higher processing fees for those type of transactions.  We have allowed you to help us by donating toward those fees at the time of your giving transaction.

Can I set up automatic, recurring donations?

Yes. When you set up your recurring donations, you have control over the amount, the rate of recurrence (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly), and even the start/end date for your automatic deductions If you decide to stop or change your recurring donation, you are able to quickly and easily make those changes yourself.
