We believe in one God, eternal in the heavens, creator of all things seen and unseen. We believe Him to be eternal, all powerful, all knowing, and all present. We believe Him to be loving, just, and merciful, and that He exists in the three persons of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
God the Father
We believe that the Father is Creator and Ruler of all. He is unchanging and faithful in His promises to His people. He cares about us. He answers our prayers. He is actively seeking a relationship with us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
God the Son
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He is fully God and co-creator of the heavens and earth. We believe that although He is fully God, and that He has been in existence with the Father from the beginning, that He came to earth in the form of man. We believe that the purpose of His coming to earth was to give His perfect life in paying the necessary penalty of all of our sins. We believe Him to have been crucified by Pontius Pilate, and that three days later He bodily arose as He promised, that He ascended to heaven and today sits at the right hand of God the Father. We believe that He is the only access whereby people today have access to God. We believe He will return to earth one day as He promised and will usher in the end of time, taking those who are His and have accepted His grace to heaven.
God the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit was also in the beginning with God and eternal. He is also referred to as the Comforter, Counselor, and Helper. He was sent to live in all believers and assists in prayers, in interpreting God’s will for our lives, in empowering us to live righteously, and in giving of a diverse set of gifts to believers for the common good of the Church today.
We believe that the Bible was given to us by God through chosen people and therefore reflects the background, culture, and styles of those individuals. We believe the Bible to be without error in its original writing. We believe it is God’s authoritative message to us as His children and that it not only explains who God is, but also who we are and where we stand in His eyes. It is the answer to how we restore our broken relationships not only with Him, but each other and explains the purpose of our lives. Salvation We believe the Bible teaches that salvation – the forgiveness of sins- is only by grace through Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible teaches that one receives God’s grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, and being baptized (immersed) in Christ.
We believe that all people everywhere, who have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, make up the one true church. The purpose of the local church is to organize Christians to reach unbelievers with the message of salvation, serve as a corporate body for worship of God, provide fellowship for Christians with each other, and to be a source of light and help to our community and our world.
